Best Restaurant in Park City, Utah

Deer Valley Grocery Cafe

This charming gourmet grocery carrier slash cafe was our first introduction to the Park City food scene. Casual dining, Park City style in this instance involves incredible views from the cafe’s patio. For light but hearty fare that won’t weigh you down, head to Deer Valley Grocery Cafe. I ordered the Chicken Taco Plate, which happens to be gluten free though I enjoyed it even without the dietary necessity on my part. My favorite element of this dish was the pumpkin seeds, which added interesting texture and flavor.

My sister ordered the pizetta which was an explosion of flavor and our host ordered her go-to chicken salad sandwich. We all left satisfied and with a couple giant cookies for dessert! If you’re looking for delicious Park City restaurants with a view, head to Deer Valley Grocery Cafe.

Grand Summit Hotel

If you’re staying at or near Grand Summit Hotel, which we recommend, then be sure to explore its restaurant and cafe. First Tracks Cafe in the lobby is great for a light breakfast or snack. We especially enjoyed their veggie breakfast burrito, which is big enough to split between two people.

For a filling Park City lunch, check out the onsite Red Tail Grill. Get the caprese bruschetta and spicy chicken sandwich. If you’re wanting something lighter, opt for their flavorful superfood salad.

High West Distillery

Founded in 2006 by a husband and wife team, visiting High West Distillery is a great way to support Park City family restaurants. Apart from great food, you can also tour the facilities and taste a whiskey flight. There’s a location in Park City and one a little outside of Park City, in Wanship. The latter is the one we visited and it was beautiful. To schedule a tour at either site, see here.

We ordered mac-n-cheese for the table, as well as their sea salt and malt vinegar chips which I instantly became obsessed with! The chips are served with a sweet onion dip and I dub this snack a can’t-miss when visiting. I ordered the Refectory Green Salad for lunch and cleaned my plate. It was the perfect post-hike meal.

Riverhorse on Main

While in town, we attended Savor the Summit — Park City’s largest outdoor dinner party — and dined with Riverhorse on Main. For more about that experience, see this guide for visiting Park City in the summer.

Riverhorse on Main is one of the top restaurants not only in Park City but in the nation, regularly being awarded for its excellence. Here, you’ll find New American cuisine made from local ingredients and fresh meat.

Located on historic Main Street, Riverhorse on Main should certainly be a part of your Park City experience. You can make reservations through Resy. My personal recommendation is for their seafood, and there are plenty of options! You can view the full menu we enjoyed at Savor the Summit for inspiration, here

The Eating Establishment

For breakfast restaurants in Park City, Utah we recommend The Eating Establishment. It’s a breakfast all day kind of place so whether you’re an early riser or looking for the best brunch in park city, they’ve got you covered.

Also located on historic Main Street, The Eating Establishment has been around for several generations. We ordered an omelette, which was good and the french toast which was amazing! What instantly caught my eye on the menu was that the french toast is served with ‘fresh lemon curd imported from Portugal.’ Of course I’m going to try that! And it was absolutely delicious.

Hearth & Hill

Without a doubt one of the best meals we had during our time in Park City was at Hearth & Hill. Located in the Kimball Junction shopping area, we honestly weren’t sure what to expect when we pulled in. But as soon as we stepped inside we no longer felt the outdoor shopping mall around us. The space is elegant and inviting, the live music was lovely and spirits were high. We were sat in a booth next to interior windows that looked into the kitchen area. It was exciting being so near, yet so far, from the food being prepared for us as we placed our orders.

Yes, multiple orders. We’d decided to try a variety of smaller plates rather than a large entree each here and it worked out very well. Especially because the menu at Hearth & Hill overflows with variety. We ordered the carpaccio flatbread (a must!), grilled elotes, flank steak gyoza, gnudi and ended with the sticky toffee pudding cake for dessert.

Definitely pay Hearth & Hill a visit when you’re in town. If you’re not sure what to get, ask your waiter for recommendations and I’m sure they won’t steer you wrong! But please, don’t leave without trying the carpaccio flatbread. For my sake.

Handle

Full disclosure, we did not eat here ourselves during our visit to Park City. While sitting at our communal table at Savor the Summit, we met a couple of the writers for Park City’s culinary magazine: Dishing Park City. One of them also works at Handle and raved about its menu. She also happened to be a former New Yorker and studied culinary management, so we’re inclined to trust her opinion. One look at the menu on Handle’s website confirms that we would have loved it, so if you have a chance to check it out you should!
